RayTerminal

RayTerminal Privacy Policy

What stays on your Mac, and what leaves it when you connect or sync.

Effective date: August 18, 2026 · Applies to RayTerminal for Mac

RayDeck does not collect, sell, or share personal data through RayTerminal. The app has no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDK, and no RayTerminal account. App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected, No Tracking.

Stored on your Mac

RayTerminal keeps these on your Mac only: the encrypted host and credential vault; SSH keys and passphrases you generate or import; connection history without command output; workspace layout and reconnect metadata; app, terminal, SSH, and sync settings. Vault secrets are encrypted with a key wrapped by macOS. RayDeck never receives any of it. The vault can be exported and imported as an encrypted file through the open/save panel.

Connections you open

SSH traffic goes from your Mac to the host you chose, through any jump host or proxy you set up — never through RayDeck. Forwarding listeners exist only while the app runs; there is no daemon or login item.

Optional encrypted sync

Sync is off until you turn it on. When enabled, RayTerminal writes an end-to-end encrypted copy of the vault to storage you already own — a folder in iCloud Drive, or your Google Drive. The provider holds ciphertext it cannot read, plus the metadata any file transfer produces: sizes, timestamps, frequency, IP address. Your passphrase or recovery key never leaves your devices; neither the provider nor RayDeck can decrypt or reset it. RayDeck runs no sync server and receives no synced data.

Google Drive access is granted in your system browser, covers only files RayTerminal creates, and the token stays on your Mac. RayTerminal uses it to store and fetch its encrypted sync files, nothing else, and shares no Google user data with RayDeck or anyone. Revoke it any time from your Google account. Turning sync off stops uploads; files already in your storage stay yours to delete.

No update checker, no telemetry

Apart from the SSH connections you open and the sync provider you connect, RayTerminal talks to no server. The Mac App Store build has no update checker and no telemetry.

Changes

If RayTerminal's data handling changes, this page and its effective date change first.
