RayPDF Privacy Notice
Effective date: July 18, 2026
RayPDF is a local-first PDF tool developed by RayDeck. Opening, rendering, searching, annotating, completing forms, and editing pages occur on the user's device by default. PDF files are not sent to a remote server.
Data not collected by default
Telemetry and crash reporting are opt-in and off by default. No usage event or crash report is transmitted without consent. Telemetry and crash payloads exclude PDF contents, selected text, annotation content, form values, signature images, file bytes, full file paths, and recent-file lists.
Data processed after consent
With separate usage-statistics consent, RayPDF may transmit a predefined event name (application start, document open, document save), app version, operating-system type, and the time of the event. With separate crash-reporting consent, it may additionally transmit a termination reason mapped to one entry of a predefined list. Stack traces, diagnostic identifiers, device identifiers, and user identifiers are never transmitted. The two choices are independent.
Processing is limited to reliability analysis, compatibility improvement, incident reproduction, and product improvement. Data is not used for advertising profiles, PDF contents analysis, or sale.
Retention and safeguards
Diagnostic data is retained only as needed for its stated purpose. Raw events are retained for at most 30 days, and aggregate statistics for at most 90 days before deletion or irreversible aggregation. If transmission is enabled, it uses HTTPS and access is restricted. The actual endpoint, processor, and any cross-border transfer must be shown before consent is enabled.
Choice and withdrawal
The build distributed today transmits neither usage statistics nor crash reports, and offers no setting to turn them on. In builds that include the transmission feature, users can enable or disable usage statistics and crash reporting separately and may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal stops future transmission; local PDF reading and editing continue to work. Any queued diagnostic payload remaining on the device is deleted on withdrawal.
Contact and changes
RayDeck publishes product and privacy contact information at https://raydeck.app and on the official App Store product, support, and privacy-policy pages. If processing categories or purposes materially change, the changed collection does not begin until renewed consent is obtained.
